Dutch conductor Lawrence Renes is so in demand in Europe that he rarely ventures to the U.S.  Indianapolis is lucky to have him return for an evening of masterworks.  Brahms’s haunting Fourth Symphony was inspired by Bach.  It is full of fascinating themes that repeat and vary before concluding triumphantly – an amazing statement by someone at the end of his life.  Beethoven’s brilliant, operatic piano concerto will shimmer and glisten in the hands of Croatian pianist Dejan Lazic in his ISO debut.
