The combination of Homer (Dan Castellaneta), his new pet pig, and a leaky silo full of excrement triggers a disaster that threatens not just Springfield but the entire world. An angry mob descends on the Simpson home, splitting the family. With Earth's fate in the balance, Homer sets out on a quest for redemption in order to save the world and earn Marge's (Julie Kavner) forgiveness.

...it just didn't seem as fresh or new as I was hoping. Of course, it's been, what, three hundred years since The Simpsons first appeared on TV?
There were plenty of gags and I laughed a lot, but there were only one or two moments when I couldn't stop. A certain song involving a superheroic swine comes to mind. A certain, somewhat revealing skateboard ride comes to mind as well.
I've loved The Simpsons forever, but it's starting to seem a little... old. I stopped watching the TV show a few years ago, and the movie was definitely a nice run down Nostalgia Lane. The movie was a lot of fun, but it's not that much better than the TV show. But then, the TV show is head and shoulders above most everything on TV today, so I'd say, get out and go see it.

The long awaited Simpsons movie is finally here and Homer is putting his family and friends in danger again.
If you watched the TV show then you will love the movie, there are appearances of almost every notable character from Mr. Burns to Willy.
You wont be disappointed with the classic jokes or the plot which takes a stab at the government. I recommend this movie to all Simpson's fans young and old you wont be disappointed. Watch out for Spider Pig though!

There are a couple priceless moments in this movie - my favorite being the visual-gag disassembly of a Disney-style love scene. There are dozens of really funny moments, and overall the movie delivers. I suppose I had somehow expected a truly great movie -- the reputations of the Simpsons looms large at this point -- so 3.5 stars only -- but well worth the popcorn!

If you've been a fan of the Simpsons at all during your lifetime this is definitely a must see. With lots of their standard comedy there is also alot of tongue in cheek moments, starting from the opening scene.
Almost all characters from the series make an appearance in one fashion or another. The only reason I took away a star was because they could have really taken more advantage of the fact they weren't on TV and used their PG13 rating a little further. They managed to squeek in a little well placed nudity, but that is where they start pulling their punches.
All in all, a fantastic movie that really lives up to the expectations of their audience; but I suppose if you're still watching the cartoon now, it wouldn't take much to please you beyond an hour and a half of Simpsons straight anyways.
