Anne Hathaway

Adopting the self-preserving mantra penned by Oscar Wilde, "The less said about life's sores the better" in order to cope with the pressures of fame, American actor Anne Jacqueline Hathaway made her debut in the short-lived 1999 television series Get Real, and has since gone on to take Hollywood by storm. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, and grew up in Short Hills, New Jersey. Seeds of her future acting career were sown at Millburn High School where she was involved in several theatrical productions. Her increasingly prominent and mature roles after Get Real include Disney's family comedy The Princess Diaries, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, The Other Side of Heaven, Nicholas Nickleby, Ella Enchanted, Havoc, 2005's multiple Academy Award winning Brokeback Mountain, Hoodwinked!, The Devil Wears Prada with Meryl Streep, Becoming Jane, and 2008's Get Smart as Agent 99. In the midst of all her film work, she was warmly received at her Broadway debut in 2002 in a production of Carnival.
